Box Score LEXINGTON, Ky.— An explosive second half led the Mount Union women's basketball team to an 83-73 win over Hanover (Ind.) in game one of the Transylvania (Ky.) Tournament Friday.
Mount Union (2-1) got a game-high 22 points from junior Annie Bova (Parma Heights/Beaumont) and 13 from senior Chandler Moore (Girard, Pa./Girard).
Hanover (0-1) got a game-high 22 points from Megan Caudill, as the Panthers went on a 4-0 run to start the game.
Hanover extended their lead 38-33 before Mount Union cut the lead to two and trailed 38-36 at the half. Mount Union continued their run into the second half by challenging the Panther defense with an 18-6 run five minutes into the second half.
Mount Union claimed their largest lead of the game, 55-70, after a made jumper by Bova as the Raiders shot 49.2% from the floor and 40.9% from behind the arc shooting their way to an 83-73 victory.
Mount Union next takes on tournament-host, Transylvania (Ky.) tomorrow, Nov. 22 at 3 pm.
