BEREA, Ohio - Mount Union men's basketball team opened their Ohio Athletic Conference schedule with an 87-75 win over Baldwin Wallace on Wednesday in Berea, Ohio.

The Purple Raiders (2-2, 1-0 OAC) were led by senior Nate Jacubec (Struthers/Struthers) with a season-high 27 points.

Sophomore DeAllen Jackson (Akron/Archbishop Hoban) and junior Jarrett Ruffin (Northfield/Nordonia) were also in double figures with 17 points and 12 points, respectively.

Junior Taylor Moore (North Canton/Hoover) scored 10 points off the bench for the Raiders.

The Yellow Jackets (2-2, 0-1 OAC) were led by Justin Roth with 21 points and three rebounds.

The game turned when Mount Union closed the first half on a 15-2 run to lead 46-36 at halftime. Jacubec scored 10 points including two three-pointers during the run and finished the half with 18 points.

The Raiders increased their advantage with an 18-7 run to start the second half and led 64-43 with 12:13 left in the game.

Baldwin Wallace battled back by scoring 14 of the last 19 points of the game to cut the lead to the final margin of 12 points.

The men's basketball team returns home to play Ohio Northern in an OAC contest on Saturday, December 6 at 4:00pm in the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex in Alliance.
