Box Score ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's men's basketball team remains alone in first place in the Ohio Athletic Conference after a 76-66 win at Otterbein Saturday night in Westerville.
Cody Dillon (Newton Falls/Newton Falls) scored 14 points and Stevie Griffin (Canton/Massillon Jackson) came off the bench with 12 points as the Purple Raiders (17-3, 12-1 OAC) have won five straight and 15 of their last 16 games.
Jake Bischoff scored a game-high 15 points to lead Otterbein (4-17, 3-11 OAC).
Otterbein led 5-2 in the game's opening minutes but Stevie Griffin hit a three pointer that sparked a 20-6 run that gave Mount Union a 22-11 lead with 12:54 left in the opening period.
The Cardinals answered with a 15-3 run over the next four minutes to retake the lead, 26-25, but the Raiders would score seven straight points to go back up six points and eventually took a five-point lead – 42-37 into the half.
Mount Union ended any hopes of an Otterbein rally by opening the second half on a 14-7 run to open up a 56-44 lead with just over 13 minutes left. The Raiders would extend the lead to 20 points on their way to the 76-66 final.
Mount Union comes home to host Heidelberg in an OAC game Monday at 7 pm at The MAAC.
