PEPPER PIKE, Ohio -- Mount Union's men's tennis team was edged out 5-4 by John Carroll in an Ohio Athletic Conference match Tuesday in Pepper Pike, Ohio.
The Purple Raiders are now 7-2 overall and 0-2 in the OAC while John Carroll now stands at 5-7 overall and 2-0 in the conference.
The Blue Streaks took two of the three doubles matches with Mount Union's point coming from the No. 3 duo of Chase Krummel (Tallmadge/Akron Hoban) and Josh Duerr (Uniontown/Lake).
The two teams split the six singles match and two of those at No. 5 and No. 6 singles went to a third set.
Dominic Marino (Cuyahoga Falls/Cuyahoga Falls) at No. 6 singles rallied from falling in the first set 6-0 to score 6-2 and 7-5 wins for the point.
Mount Union next plays in an OAC match at Heidelberg Saturday at 1 pm in Tiffin.
