COLUMBUS, Ohio -- No. 6 seed Mount Union fell to No. 3 seed Capital, 5-3 in the quarterfinals of the 2014 Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Tournament in Columbus.
The Purple Raiders season ends at 10-6 while Capital (11-6) advances to the semifinals Friday in Mason, Ohio.
Mount Union was down 2-1 after doubles and the Crusaders scored wins at No. 1, No. 2, No. 6 singles to win the match.
The Raiders three points came from Jeff Williams (Cleveland Hts./Lakewood St. Edward), who scored wins at No. 4 singles and at No. 2 doubles with partner Rob DeMarco (North Canton/Hoover).
Mount Union's other point came from Ben Swope (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) at No. 3 singles.
