ALLIANCE, Ohio - The No. 7 Mount Union volleyball team continued their hot start with a 3-0 win against visiting Case Western Reserve Wednesday night in Alliance.
The Purple Raiders (6-0, 0-0 OAC) rolled to a 25-17, 25-15, 25-15 victory and have won 10 straight sets dating back to August 30.
Kara Berger (Mentor/Mentor) finished the night with a career-high 10 kills, the only Raider in double figures, and a game-high five blocks.
Sarah Schleich (Westfield Center/Cloverleaf) posted her second double-double of the season with 18 assists and 10 digs. Lauren Mastroine (Orrville/Orrville) paced the Raiders defensively with 15 digs.
The Spartans (6-3) were led by Kristen Mitchell's 21 digs and Kayla Pfaff's four kills.
The volleyball team will travel to Newport News, Virginia and plays Berry (Ga.) and Johns Hopkins (Md.) on Friday. On Saturday the Raiders will play William Peace (N.C.) and close out the weekend with a marquee matchup against No. 13 Christopher Newport (Va.).
