ALLIANCE, Ohio-- Mount Union's men's tennis team defeated Penn State-Behrend 8-1 in a non-conference match Friday.
The Purple Raiders advance to 1-1 on the season while the Lions fall to 1-1.
The Raiders swept the doubles play with Rob DeMarco (North Canton/Hoover) and Jeff Williams (Cleveland Heights/St. Edward) defeating PSU's Yanique Apgar and Andre Robert 8-2 in position one while Ben Swope (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) and Chase Krummel (Tallmadge/Archbishop Hoban) won 8-2 in the third position.
In singles action, the Purple Raiders won all but one match and shut out the Lions in three different sets.
Mount Union competes in its final game of the fall season, home against Grove City College Friday Oct. 3 at 4 pm at the Whitehill Tennis Courts in Alliance.
