Box Score 2 ALLIANCE, Ohio - The No. 7 Mount Union volleyball team earned two victories Saturday afternoon as it defeated No. 20 DePauw (Ind.) 3-1 and swept Defiance 3-0.
The Purple Raiders (15-1 overall) have won five straight matches, three of which were in straight sets.
Mount Union was led in the first game by double digit kills from Nicole Snyder (Mentor/Lake Catholic) with 14 and Kara Berger (Mentor/Mentor) with 10.
Sarah Schleich (Westfield Center/Cloverleaf) tallied 33 assists and Lauren Mastroine (Orrville/Orrville) added 25 digs.
In the second game Snyder and Berger led the charge again with 12 and 11 kills respectively. Schleich added to her assist total with 26 assists and Mastroine led the team with 14 digs.
DePauw drops to 12-3 overall after losses to both Geneva (Pa.) and Mount Union.
Defiance also lost both games in the Geneva-Mount Union double-header to bring their record to 10-8 on the season.
The Mount Union volleyball team will next be in action on Tuesday, September 30 at 7pm as they travel to Hiram College.
