WILMINGTON, Ohio— The Mount Union women's basketball team suffered a 59-47 Ohio Athletic Conference loss to Wilmington on Saturday.

The Purple Raiders (5-8, 1-5 OAC) were led by junior Katie Reed (Alliance/Marlington) with a game-high 13 points shooting 67% from behind the arc while freshman Isabella Pecchia (North Ridgeville/North Ridgeville) grabbed four rebounds.

The Quakers (8-5, 3-3 OAC) were led by Ashley Andracki with 12 points while Courtney Tucker grabbed 11 rebounds.

Colleen Kennehan (Berlin Center/Western Reserve) opened the game with a three-point shot to give Mount Union a 3-0 lead.

Wilmington would answer with a 6-0 run gaining a 6-3 lead which would remain the score until the 15:30 mark as Mount Union shot just 27.9% from the floor with Wilmington shooting 36.1%.

Wilmington ended the first half on a 15-4 run causing a 32-18 lead heading into the locker room.

Mount Union opened the second half with back-to-back three's for senior's Nancy Osborne (North Canton/GlenOak) and Chandler Moore (Girard, Pa./Girard)—37-24—at the 16:23 mark.

The Purple Raiders were within 10 points at the 13:10 mark before a 6-2 run for Wilmington including a pair of free throws.

The Wilmington defense forced 19 turnovers and allowed only eight points in the paint with the Quakers ending the game with a 59-47 victory.

Mount Union looks to bounce back as they host Muskingum Wednesday, Jan. 14 at 3 pm at the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex in Alliance.
