Box Score WESTERVILLE, Ohio— Three Raiders in double-figures pushed Mount Union passed Otterbein in a 78-65 Ohio Athletic Conference victory Saturday.
The Purple Raiders (8-9, 4-6 OAC) had three players scoring in double-figures including a game-high 20 points for junior Katie Reed (Alliance/Marlington), a double-double for senior Chandler Moore (Girard, Pa./Girard) with 14 points and 10 rebounds and junior Annie Bova (Parma Heights/Beaumont) adding 11 points.
Otterbein (5-12, 2-8 OAC) was led by Amariah Huck scoring 16 points.
The Cardinals opened the game on a 5-2 run including a three-pointer for Mary Corbett.
Mount Union answered with a 10-0 run over the next seven minutes sparked by a Reed layup.
A 6-0 run for Otterbein cut the Raider lead to one—18-17—at the 10:06 mark.
Over the next four minutes, Reed scored 13 of the Raiders 15-8 point run to extend the lead 33-25 with six minutes remaining in the first half.
With just under three minutes remaining in the half, Mount Union gained their largest lead—39-28.
Otterbein ended the half on an 8-0 run including four offensive rebounds as Mount Union entered the locker room with a three-point lead, 39-36.
The Raiders opened the second half on a 24-6 run with Moore scoring 12 points giving Mount Union a 21 point lead, 63-42.
Otterbein threatened the lead with just under three minutes left in the game after a 14-5 run including back-to-back three-pointers for Cheyenne Hartley-Carr—72-62-- cutting the Mount Union lead in half.
Mount Union went on to defeat Otterbein 78-65 in an OAC victory.
The Raiders remain on the road as the travel to Baldwin Wallace to take on the Yellow Jackets for the second time this season Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 7:30 pm.
