ADA, Ohio- Mount Union's volleyball team was defeated by No. 23 Ohio Northern in four sets in Ada on Saturday.

The Polar Bears (17-4, OAC 3-0) defeated the Purple Raiders (13-7, OAC 2-1) by scores of 25-17, 13-25, 18-25, and 17-25.

Offensively, the Raiders were led by sophomore Brooke Knollman (Powell/ Olentangy Liberty) who tallied 13 kills and sophomore Mallory Sliman (Amherst/Amherst Steele) adding 11 kills.

Sophomore setter Riley Schenk (Lorain/Amherst Steele) led the team with 29 assists.

Defensively, Mount Union was led by freshman Allison Baird (North Royalton/North Royalton) with 14 digs while senior Abby Riffee added 10 digs for the Raiders.

The Raiders found the momentum in the first set winning 25-17. While the Polar Bears fell short, they would respond with a 25-13 victory in set two. Northern would go on to win the next two sets 25-18 and 25-17.

The Raiders are back in action Tuesday, October 13 when they travel to Berea, Ohio to take on Baldwin Wallace.
