WESTERVILLE, Ohio- Mount Union's (15-12, 4-5 OAC) volleyball team dropped their final regular season game to Thomas More (Ky.)(23-4, 18-0 PAC), 20-25, 20-25, 25-18, and 25-27 on Saturday in Westerville.

The Raiders were led by freshman Kyleigh Jackson (Galloway/Westland) and Brooke Knollman (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) with 12 and 10 kills respecitvely. Sophomore Morgan Chapman (Seven Fields, Pa./Seneca Valley) and junior Emma Mathieson (Tallmadge/Tallmadge) added nine and seven kills for the Raiders.

Mallory Sliman (Amherst/Amherst Steele) had six blocks for Mount Union while Jackson and Chapman each added five blocks for the team. Sophomore Riley Schenk (Lorain/Amherst Steele) led the Raiders in assists with 33.

Defensively for Mount Union, freshman Allison Baird (North Royalton/North Royalton) led the team in digs with 19 while senior Abby Riffee (Mineral Ridge/Mineral Ridge) added 13 for the Raiders.

The Raiders were down 6-0 in the first set but came back to tie the game up to 13-13. Thomas More (Ky.) kept the lead for the rest of the set and won 25-20. Thomas More (Ky.) pulled out the second set with another score of 25-20 leading the whole game and having five ties. 

Mount Union came out leading Thomas More (Ky.) 4-1 in the third set but the Saints came back to tie it up 5-5. The Raiders took the lead again, 6-5 and led the rest of the set to win 25-18.

In the fourth set, there were five ties and only two lead changes.The Raiders led the whole set until the Saints tied it up at 25-25. With an attack error on Mount Union and a kill for Thomas More (Ky.), the Saints pulled out the win with a score of 27-25.

Mount Union will travel to Ada, Ohio to take on Ohio Northern Tuesday, Nov. 3rd in the quarterfinals of the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament at 7 pm.
