ALLIANCE, Ohio- Mount Union's volleyball team defeated Marietta with a 3-0 win Tuesday night at the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex.

The Purple Raiders rolled to the straight set victory 30-28, 25-15 and 25-16 and moved to 2-0 in the OAC and 13-6 overall on the season while Marietta dropped to 1-1 in the conference and 8-11 overall.

Mount Union was led by Brooke Knollman (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) with 10 kills. Allison Baird (North Royalton/North Royalton) led in digs with 15 while Riley Schenk (Lorain/Amherst Steele) dished out 19 assists.

Marietta was led by Amanda Arrowood and Erica Denallo each having nine kills.

In the first set there were seven lead changes and nine ties with Mount Union scoring three of the last four points to win the set 30-28.

The Raiders jumped to a 10-5 lead in set two and kept it to win 25-15.

With the score tied 10-10 in set three, the Raiders rattled off 10 of 11 points to take an 18-12 lead. Baird had the last three serves to end the game 25-16.

The Raiders compete this weekend in Ada, Ohio against #23 Ohio Northern on Saturday at 1 pm.
