Box Score UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio – The Mount Union men's soccer team was eliminated from the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament after falling to John Carroll 1-0 in the first round.
John Carroll (13-4-1, 8-2) struck early in the second minute of the match as Dalton Browsky snuck a shot past Mount Union goalkeeper junior Dylan Lias (Cuyahoga Falls/Cuyahoga Falls) off of an assist from Jesse Marinaro to give the Blue Streaks a 1-0 lead.
After the early goal, the game's pace evened out with each team going into halftime with four shots and five corners each.
The Blue Streaks were awarded a penalty kick in the 70th minute of the match that was taken by Jacob Lombardo but Lias came up with a big save to keep the score at 1-0.
John Carroll goalkeeper Liam McIntosh recorded his fifth shutout of the year as the Blue Streaks head to the semi-finals.
Mount Union finishes the season going 9-8-1 and 4-6 in the Ohio Athletic Conference under first year head coach Carter Poe.
