COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Mount Union's men's basketball team scored a 68-62 road win at Capital in an Ohio Athletic Conference game Saturday at The Capital Center.

Jake Jacubec (Struthers/Struthers) scored a game-high 23 points, JJ Kukura (Alliance/Alliance) came off the bench with 16 points and Jarrett Ruffin (Northfield/Nordonia) had 11 rebounds and 10 points as Mount Union ran its record to 5-2 overall and 2-0 in the OAC.

A.J. Dixon had 13 points to lead Capital (4-3, 1-1 OAC).

The Purple Raiders ran out to a 9-0 lead in the game's first four minutes before Capital rallied with a 16-8 run to get to within a point, 17-16 with 9:45 left in the half. The Crusaders then went on a 12-4 surge to take a 28-21 lead at the 4:07 mark.  Capital would increase the lead to eight points, 37-29, at the half.

Mount Union opened the second half on a 14-4 run that was finished with nine straight points from Jacubec as the Raiders retook the lead 43-41 with 14:41 to go.  The Raiders got six of the next 10 points and a Ruffin dunk put Mount Union up 49-45 before Capital scored four straight to tie the game at 49.

A three-point play by Zach Neuenschwander (Navarre/Fairless) put the Raiders up for good, 52-49 with 8:51 to play.

Mount Union stays on the road playing an OAC game Wednesday, Dec. 9 at 7:30 p.m. at Ohio Northern.
