ALLIANCE, Ohio—The University of Mount Union women's basketball team clinched a spot in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament after defeating Wilmington, 61-44, on Senior Night Saturday.

The Purple Raiders (10-15, 6-12 OAC) were led by junior Annie Bova (Parma Heights/Beaumont) who scored a game-high 24 points including six three-pointers while senior Chandler Moore (Girard, Pa./Girard) grabbed eight rebounds.

The Quakers (14-11, 9-9 OAC) were led by Ashley Andracki scoring nine points as Wilmington shot just 20.8% from the floor and missed their first 11 shots of the game.

Mount Union opened the game on a 9-0 run with Wilmington's first basket coming at the 12:42 mark.

The Raiders led by 10 –19-10—with just under seven minutes left in the first half before hitting a cold streak and not scoring again until the 1:30 mark allowing Wilmington to hold a one point lead.

A layup by Bova pushed Mount Union back in the lead—26-25—heading into the locker room.

In the second half, Mary Moyer hit a three-pointer giving the one point lead back to Wilmington before Mount Union led for the remainder of the game.

Junior Katie Reed (Alliance/Marlington) hit back-to-back three-pointers giving the Raiders a seven point lead, 41-34 with 12 minutes left to play.

Bova extended the lead to 18 hitting three of her six three-pointers in a four-minute span.

Mount Union went on to defeat Wilmington, 61-44, out rebounding the Quakers 50-30.

The Raiders have clinched a spot in the OAC Tournament playing Monday at 7:30 pm at a location yet to be determined.
