ALLIANCE, Ohio—Mount Union women's basketball team lost an Ohio Athletic Conference game to Ohio Northern, 58-42, on Saturday.

The Purple Raiders (8-13, 4-10 OAC) were led by freshman Isabella Pecchia (North Ridgeville/North Ridgeville) scoring 11 points with senior Chandler Moore (Girard, Pa./Girard) grabbing six rebounds.

The Polar Bears move to 16-5, 12-2 in the conference, while being led by two players scoring in double-figures with Karissa Steffas scoring 13 and Precious Ramsey adding 10 points.

Ohio Northern scored the first five points of the game before Mount Union got on the board with back-to-back three-pointers for Moore and Cassie Hennessy (Lancaster/Lancaster) giving the Raiders a one point lead, 6-5.

Back and forth scoring for the remainder of the half gave the Polar Bears a, 25-15, lead going into the break.

Mount Union opened the second half on a 12-3 run with Pecchia scoring six points bringing the Raiders within one of Northern.

Ohio Northern answered with a 21-2 run as Mount Union went scoreless for six minutes giving the Polar Bears a 49-29 advantage with under 10 minutes to play.

The Polar Bears went on the defeat the Raiders 58-42.

Mount Union next travels to Marietta Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 7:30 pm.
