ALLIANCE, Ohio-- Mount Union's men's tennis team defeated previously undefeated, Baldwin Wallace, 5-4, in the final Ohio Athletic Conference match of the season at the Whitehill Tennis Courts in Alliance.
The Purple Raiders advance to 13-5 on the season and 5-3 in the conference while Baldwin Wallace drops to 15-2 overall and 4-1 in the conference.
The Raiders opened the match with a 2-1 lead as Malcolm Leake () and Jackson Schneider () defeated Nathan Katz and Jake Liebler, 8-3, in the number two position.
In number three doubles, Ben Swope () and Christopher Adamsky () won 9-8 and 10-8 in an extra set.
In singles action, the Raiders and the Yellow Jackets split 3-3 Peter Harris and Doug Ganim grabbing the number one and two victory.
Swope and Jeff Williams () defeated Katz and Liebler in the number three and four position earning Mount a 4-3 lead.
Schnieder defeated Kevin Fredrick, 6-2 and 6-1, in the number five postion as Mount Union went on to knock off Baldwin Wallace, 5-4.
Mount Union next prepares to compete in the OAC Tournament Wednesday, April 29.
