BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Mount Union men's soccer team lost 2-1 at Geneva Wednesday.

Geneva (4-1-1) struck first in the 10th minute of the game on a header by Gib McCracken off of a corner kick by Josh Brenzie to give the Golden Tornadoes a 1-0 lead.

The Golden Tornadoes scored again just before halftime at the 43:54 minute mark off of another corner kick, this time by Daniel Cox to give Geneva a 2-0 lead going into the break.

Mount Union (1-2-1) got on the board in the 84th minute on a goal by junior Jacob Sutton (Alliance/Marlington) to cut the Geneva lead down to 2-1 but got no closer.

The Purple Raiders next host Franklin (Ind.) Sunday, September 20 at 2 p.m. at Mount Union Stadium.
