Box Score ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's women's basketball team scored a 68-60 victory over Otterbein in an Ohio Athletic Conference Saturday at the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex in Alliance.
Annie Bova (Parma Heights/Beaumont) had 18, Katie Reed (Alliance/Marlington) had 12 while Abbey Bartoszewicz (Wexford, Pa./Vencentian Academy) came off the bench for 11 points as the Purple Raiders improve to 13-4 overall and 7-3 in the OAC.
Otterbein (8-9 overall, 3-7 OAC) got 14 points from Dani Kissel.
Otterbein pushed out to a nine-point first quarter lead and led 21-14 at the end of the period as Kissel had nine points for the Cardinals.
The Otterbein lead went back out to nine points in the second quarter before a Bartoszewicz three sparked a 10-0 Mount Union run to give the Raiders back the lead 26-25 with 4:25 before halftime. The Raiders finished the quarter scoring six of the next nine points to take a 32-28 lead into the locker room.
Mount Union outscored Otterbein 13-6 in the first seven minutes of the third quarter to open up a 45-34 lead. A Bova three-pointer took the lead out to 14 points, 50-36 with a minute left in the period and the Raiders finished the quarter leading 52-41.
Otterbein got no closer than eight points the rest of the way.
Mount Union stays home hosting Baldwin Wallace in an OAC matchup Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 7:30 p.m. at The MAAC.
