Box Score ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Mount Union men's soccer team's unbeaten streak came to a halt after falling to Ohio Athletic Conference opponent John Carroll 3-1 at Mount Union Stadium on Tuesday evening.
The Purple Raiders opened the scoring 22 minutes into the game when junior Aaron Liezert (Medina/Medina) scored off of a free kick, which he placed into the top right corner of John Carroll's goal.
John Carroll's Jesse Marinaro tied the game at one after being awarded a penalty kick and slipping the ball past senior goalkeeper Dylan Lias (Cuyahoga Falls/Cuyahoga Falls) in the 27th minute.
The Blue Streaks took the lead in the 49th minute when Dalton Browsky headed the ball into the back of the net off of a corner by Hayden Parente.
John Carroll added a late third goal when Browsky scored on a breakaway with 30 seconds remaining in the game, resulting in a final score of 3-1.
Mount Union drops to 5-7-4 overall and 3-4-1 in conference play, while John Carroll advances to 10-5-2 on the season and 7-0-1 in the OAC.
The Raiders travel to Westerville, Ohio for their final regular season conference matchup against Otterbein on Saturday, Oct. 29th at 7 p.m.
