ALLIANCE, Ohio—The Mount Union men's tennis team defeated Ohio Northern, 8-1, in an Ohio Athletic Conference match up Saturday afternoon at the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex in Alliance.
The Purple Raiders, now 10-4, 2-1 in the OAC, earned the win when Matt Bringman (Strongsville/Strongsville) won at No.4 singles. Bringman a win in both singles and doubles.
Mount Union came out of doubles up 2-1, then swept all six singles position.
Ohio Northern, now 1-10, 0-3 in the OAC, picked up its lone point at No.1 doubles.
Tyler Tareshawty (Canfield/Canfield) picked up another win at No.6 singles to bring his season record to 7-4. He has won seven out of his last eight matches.
Mount Union is back in action on Wednesday, April 13th, as they travel to John Carroll. The match is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start.
