Box Score ALLIANCE, Ohio- The Mount Union men's basketball team lost to Ohio Northern, 86-75, in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup Saturday afternoon on the Joe and Margaret Campoli Court.
The Raiders (11-6, 6-4 OAC) were led by DeAllen Jackson (Akron/Hoban) and JJ Kukura (Alliance/Alliance) who each scored 20 points while Kukura also posted six rebounds.
Diallo Niamke (Sagamore Hills/Nordonia) and Andrew Francesconi (Tallmadge/Tallmadge) came off the bench adding nine and eight points respectively.
Ohio Northern (10-7, 8-2 OAC) was led by Devon Allen who scored a game high 23 points.
Ohio Northern started off the game with a 6-3 start but the Raiders answered with a 9-2 run as they led by four points, 12-8, at the 13 minute mark. The Raiders went up by 10 points, 33-23, with 2:18 remaining. Ohio Northern brought it back within three, 35-32, as Mount Union led going into the break.
The Polar Bears came out of the break on a 13-7 run to get a three point lead over the Raiders, 45-42. Ohio Northern went up by 14 points, 65-51, with 7:50 remaining in the game. The Raiders went on a 10-0 run to get within six points, 65-59, at the six minute mark.
Mount Union got back within three points, 70-67, with 3:40 to go. The Polar Bears responded with an 8-2 run to get back on top by nine points, 78-69, as Ohio Northern went on to win the game, 86-75.
The Raiders host John Carroll Wednesday, January 25 at 7:00 p.m. in the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex.
