Men's Soccer: Mount Union Season Stopped in OAC Semis at John Carroll

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio – No. 3 seed Mount Union rallied but came up short in a 2-1 loss at No. 2 seed John Carroll in the semifinals of the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Tournament Thursday at Don Shula Stadium.

Trailing 2-0, junior Tyler Cooper (Chagrin Falls/Kenston) got the Purple Raiders to within a goal in the 86th minute but the comeback was stopped there along with a historic season for Mount Union.

The Raiders finish with a 13-4-1 record which tied the school record for wins in a season with the 2003 squad.

John Carroll (13-4-1), which scored on a free kick that was not cleared in the 28th minute and a goal in the 50th minute, move to the championship match against either No. 1 seed Capital or No. 5 seed Ohio Northern.

Mount Union out-shot the Blue Streaks 13-10 and junior Zach Hlas (Medina) played all 90 minutes in the goal with four saves.
