ALLIANCE, Ohio - The Mount Union men's tennis team defeated Otterbein (6-5, 0-1 OAC) 7-2 in their Ohio Athletic Conference opener Monday evening.

The Purple Raiders (7-2, 1-0 OAC) won two out of three doubles matches in the pairings of Robert Cross (North Canton/Hoover) and Zach Teffner (Cortland/Lakeview), and Mark Beebe (Chardon/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) and Justin Kelley (Uniontown/Lake) with scores of 8-5 and 8-3, respectively.

Mount Union also won all but one singles match, as Beebe and Kyle Hicken (Pittsburgh, Pa./Chartiers Valley) took both their matches to a third set.

Continuing OAC play, Mount Union will next travel to Berea, Ohio and play Baldwin Wallace on Friday, March 30 at 1:00 p.m.
