HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Mount Union men's tennis team improved to 3-1 as they defeated Catholic (D.C.) 7-2 Monday afternoon at the Hilton Head Beach & Tennis Club.

The Purple Raiders won two of three doubles matches in the pairings of Jackson Schneider (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) and Mark Beebe (Chardon/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin), and Robert Cross (North Canton/Hoover) and Zach Teffner (Cortland/Lakeview) with scores of 8-3 and 8-2, respectively.

Mount Union also all but one of the singles matches as Teffner took Catholic's Ted Tiu to three sets; Catholic's record drops to 3-4.

Continuing their spring trip in Hilton Head, Mount Union will next play St. John Fisher (N.Y.) Tuesday, March 6 at 12:30 p.m. at the Chaplin Park Tennis Center.
