ALLIANCE, Ohio—Mount Union fought to a 1-1 double overtime tie against Marietta in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup Wednesday evening at Mount Union Stadium.

The Purple Raiders picked up a point in the conference standings as they are now 8-2-4 overall and 2-1-3 in the OAC, while Marietta is 7-7-1 overall and 2-3-1 in the OAC.

Mount Union scored first off a corner kick from senior Jon Schroeder (Parma / Normandy) to senior Austin Overy (Perrysburg) in the 13th minute.

Marietta had an answer for Mount Union as they got a goal in the 54th minute.

The Purple Raiders outshot Marietta four to one in the overtime periods but couldn't connect for a goal.

Mount Union will stay home to host Heidelberg in an OAC matchup Saturday, October 23rd at 1pm for Senior Day.
