ALLIANCE, Ohio - The Mount Union women's volleyball team opened their season with a pair of 3-0 wins over Wooster and Brockport (N.Y.) Friday at the Mount Union Invitational. 

In a 25-16, 25-15, 25-10 win against Wooster, junior Madelin DiBease (Perry) led a balanced attack with seven kills, freshman Mollie Thomas (Massillon Perry) had 11 assists while fellow freshman Alyssa Kasaris (North Royalton) had 14 digs.

The Purple Raiders beat Brockport 25-13, 25-20 and 25-22 as DiBease had 11 kills, Thomas had 14 assists and Kasaris had 15 digs.

Mount Union continues the tournament Saturday with matches against Mount Vernon Nazarene and Earlham (Ind.).
