Men's Soccer: Raiders Force 1-1 Tie Against Nationally Ranked Case Western Reserve

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Mount Union men's soccer team tied No. 7 ranked nationally ranked Case Western Reserve 1-1 on Monday afternoon at DiSanto Field in Cleveland.

Mount Union (1-0-1) found the back of the net on a set piece from senior Josh Lewis (Elyria) in the 31st minute to take a 1-0 lead.

Senior goalie Zach Hlas (Medina) saved both chances he had as the Purple Raiders had a 1-0 lead going into halftime.

Case Western Reserve (1-0-1) tied the game on a goal from a corner kick in the 61st minute.

Mount Union and Case Western Reserve would remain tied through the rest of the second half to head into overtime.

The Purple Raiders had three chances in the two overtime but were unable to score. Hlas finished with six saves on the day.

Mount Union next plays at Carnegie Mellon, September 6 at 7 p.m. in Pittsburgh.
