Box Score BEREA, Ohio – Mount Union's women's basketball team fell 66-43 at Baldwin Wallace in an Ohio Athletic Conference game Saturday night at Ursprung Gymnasium in Berea.
The Purple Raiders (0-2, 0-2 OAC) were led by the senior duo Elena Rauhe (Seven Hills / Padua Franciscan) and Brianna Gassman (Minerva) who each scored 11 points.
Mount Union converted just four of its first 17 shots in the first quarter but a late rally found the Raiders down just one, 13-12, after the first 10 minutes. Baldwin Wallace outscored the Raiders 12-3 in the second quarter to take a 25-15 halftime lead.
The Jackets extended their lead to 48-32 after three quarters on their way to the 13 point victory to move to 2-0 on the season.
Gabby Garrett scored a game-high 22 for Baldwin Wallace.
Mount Union plays John Carroll next Friday at 7 p.m. in University Heights then Saturday at 6 p.m. in Alliance.
