LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Mount Union sophomore Jeffery Joseph (Beloit / West Branch) finished second overall leading the men's cross country team to an 11th place finish at the Pre-National Saturday afternoon at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park.
The Purple Raiders were led by Joseph who ran a personal record of 24:14.8 to finish second with freshman Vincent Giumenti (Dover) finishing 41st with a time of 25:29.2.
Senior Logan Brown (Springfield / Northeastern) finished 101st with a time of 26:30.0.
Senior Hunter Probert (Gnadenhutten / Indian Valley) 26:54.8 and freshman Curtis Joppeck (New London) 27:07.5 completed the scoring for Mount Union with 130th and 146th.
Also competing for the Raiders was freshman Mason Kutz (Dalton) and senior Alex Bryan (Geneva) finishing 175th and 203rd with times of 27:30.7 and 27:59.5.
MIT finished first with a team score of 50 points with Mount Union finishing 11th with a total of 394 points.
Mount Union next competes Saturday, Oct. 19 at 11am at the Inter-Regional Rumble hosted by Oberlin College.
