INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Mount Union's women volleyball team is ranked seventh in the second NCAA Division III Region VII Ranking of the season.

The regional rankings are used to help determine teams, seeds and game locations for the 2021 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Tournament.

The tournament is made of a 64-team field and in that field are 44 conference champions earning automatic bids, one bid is reserved for independents along with 20 national at-large bids.

The Ohio Athletic Conference is one of those 44 conferences and it awards that automatic bid to the champion of the OAC Tournament.

The Purple Raiders are currently 19-5 overall and 6-1 in the OAC, after picking up wins over Marietta and Heidelberg last week. There are three other OAC schools ranked in the poll, Ohio Northern is third in the region and 17th nationally, Otterbein is ranked fourth in the region and 23rd nationally and Muskingum is eight.

The Raiders are back in action today against Baldwin Wallace on the road, then they will play at #17 Ohio Northern on Saturday to finish the regular season.
