A Pair of Second Half Goals From Pepper Lead Raiders to Victory

Raiders Record Second Straight Shutout

ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's women's soccer team picked up their second straight Ohio Athletic Conference victory in a 2-0 win over Wilmington, Saturday afternoon.

The Purple Raiders (6-4-1, 2-1-0 OAC) and Quakers (5-6-1, 2-1-0 OAC) were tied at zero until the 79th minute when junior Madison Pepper (Uniontown / Lake) found the back of the net to break the tie off an assist by junior Andrea Decker (Hillard / Hillard Bradley) and freshman Logan Godfrey (Huntingtown, Md.). Pepper then added a second goal in the 84th minute off an assist from senior Mary Double (Salem).

Freshman goalkeeper Rylee Oldfield (Liberty Twp. / Lakota East) picked up her second consecutive shutout in the win.

The Quakers who were previously undefeated in OAC play got out shot by the Raiders 19-2, including a 9-1 shots on goal advantage for the Raiders.

The Raiders return to the pitch Wednesday, October 13 at 7 p.m. against Muskingum in New Concord, Ohio.
