ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Mount Union men's basketball team, ranked 21st in the nation, stayed unbeaten on the season with an 81-63 victory over Wooster on Wednesday night.

The Raiders (5-0) had three players score in double figures, with senior Braedon Poole (McDonald) leading the way with a 24-point, 12 rebound double-double, which matches his season and career high for points. Sophomore Christian Parker (Canton / Glenoak) added 18 points and junior Chris Painter Jr. (Akron / St. Vincent- St. Mary) had 10 points.

The Fighting Scots (2-1) were led by Turner Kurt who scored a game high 25 points and Brandon Styers who added 12 points.

The Raiders raced out to an early six-point lead when a dunk by Parker put them ahead 13-7 with 14 minutes to go in the first half. But the Scots answered with a 12-2 run over the next 2:01 to take a 19-15 lead with 10:27 to go in the first half. The Raiders then went on a 24-8 run over the next 8:43 to take a 12-point lead going into the half.

The Scots opened the second half on a 15-6 run to cut the Raiders lead down to three with 14:38 remaining in the game. A step back jumper by senior Ethan Stanislawski (Massillon / Jackson) with 11:36 to go gave the Raiders a 59-51 lead. Before a jumper by Elijah Meredith got the Scots back to within four with just 8:45 to play. That was the closest the Scots were able to get as the Raiders outscored them 20-11 over the final seven minutes to close out a 13-point victory.
