Muskingum Game Notes
The Matchup: No. 4 ranked Mount Union takes on Muskingum in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup and the final regular season home game Saturday, Nov. 6 at 1:30 p.m. at Mount Union Stadium.
Mount Union (8-0, 7-0 OAC) ralliied to defeat Ohio Northern, 42-35, last Saturday.
Running back
Josh Petruccelli (Perry) ran in a one-yard touchdown run with 2:14 to play that gave Mount Union a 42-35 lead. Ohio Northern came back and drove to the Mount Union 30-yard line with a minute to play before Polar Bear quarterback Brody Hahn was intercepted in the end zone by
Derrick Bradley (Bradenton, Fla. / Palmetto) to seal the victory for the Raiders.
Braxton Plunk (Plant City, Fla.) finished with 253 yards passes with four touchdowns and two interceptions.
DeAndre Parker (Crystal River, Fla.) ran for 71 yards with a score and Petruccelli finished with 51 yards and a score.
Derrick Harvey, Jr. (Akron / Buchtel) had 66 yards receiving and a pair of touchdowns.
Aside from the Bradley interception at the end of the game, Mount Union got picks from
Malik Britt (Bossier City, La. / Airline),
Rossy Moore (Lima / Lima Central Catholic) and
Anthony Parker (Hinesville, Ga. / Liberty County).
Muskingum (4-4, 3-4 OAC) fell behind Heidleberg 28-7 and eventually lost 49-14 last Saturday.
Jordan Garrett threw for 267 yards and two scores, both to Zuri Edmondson, who had 90 yards receiving while Brian Brown had a game-high 10 tackles.
The Series: This is the 76th meeting between the teams with Mount Union holding a 44-29-2 lead in the series that goes back to a 23-0 Muskingum win on November 3, 1906. The Raiders have won 32-straight meetings since a 17-17 tie in 1988 in Alliance. The last Muskie win in the series came in a 24-19 victory in 1984 in Alliance. In the spring, Mount Union won 51-15 as
Braxton Plunk threw for 314 yards and six touchdowns in a game played at Zanesville High School.

Around the OAC: Baldwin Wallace at Ohio Northern and John Carroll at Heidelberg are matchups that headline the league slate this week. The other two games are Capital at Wilmington and Otterbein is at Marietta.
Scouting the Muskies: After a 3-1 start, the Muskies have dropped three of their last four games.
Muskingum is seventh in the OAC in total offense (341.6 yards per game) and fifth in total defense (364.1 yards per game).
On offense, senior quarterback Jordan Garrett has completed 56.8-percent of his passes for 1,740 yards with 13 touchdowns and six interceptions. Five different receivers have caught a touchdown pass, led by junior Zuri Edmondson with 34 catches for 535 yards and four touchdowns. On the ground, Garrett has a team-high five rushing scores and junior Donny Wilkinson averages 4.7 yards a carry with three scores.
On defense, freshman linebacker Azarious Williams is second in the OAC with a team leading 65 tackles. He also has six tackles for loss, a sack and a forced fumble.
Another freshman in lineman Daniel Robinson has a team-best 3.0 sacks on the season.
The secondary has nine interceptions and junior Tristan Howell and senior Cortez McGinnis each have two.
Passing Fancy: Mount Union is third in nation in passing offense (366 yards per game) and third in total offense (551.7 yards per game). Quarterback Braxton (Plant City, Fla.) is second in the nation in completion percentage at 73.4-percent.
No Loss: Mount Union is second in the nation in tackles for loss allowed per game (2.0) and ninth nationally in sacks allowed per game (0.57). The offensive line has featured starters this season in

Petro Pushes Up List: Last week, Mount Union senior running back
Josh Petruccelli (Perry) had 47 yards receiving with a touchdown, averaged 44 yards a punt on two punts and had 51 yards rushing with the go-ahead touchdown on the ground with two minutes to play. Petruccelli has 4,726 career rushing yards which is 44 yards away from passing BJ Mitchell for third on Mount Union's all-time rushing yards list.
Many Happy Returns: Mount Union senior
KJ Redmon (Fairborn) had his longest kick off return of the season with a 50-yard return against Ohio Northern. Redmon had four returns in the game for 152 yards (38.0 yards per return). On the season, Redmon averages 33.3 yards per return which is the fifth highest single season total in school history.
