ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Mount Union women's basketball team (4-4) complete the sweep of the Student Princes of Heidelberg University (1-7) in their second matchup of the weekend with a final score of 74-53 at the MAAC.

The Purple Raiders had four players in double figures consisting of sophomore Kelsie Glass (Green) who had 13, sophomore Emma Cannon (Dalton) with 11, junior Isi Palamone (Murrysville, Pa. / Franklin Regional) with 11, and senior Elena Rauhe (Seven Hills / Padua Franciscan) with 10.

Heidelberg was led by Brooke Beamer who had 17 points on the evening.

The Raiders took their first lead of the night off layup by Cannon at 6:47 to make the score 8-6 against the Student Princes, and they never looked back. Mount Union outshot Heidelberg 24-15 after the first 10 minutes and secured their largest lead of the half at 21 with 1:43 remaining in the second quarter off a three-point shot from the arch by Glass.

The Student Princes came off the break attempting to chip at the Mount Union lead bringing the deficit as close as 15 with 7:56 remaining in the third quarter, and held them to only 18 points to their 15 in the same quarter. The Raiders pulled away again in the fourth and ended the game on top with a final score of 74-53.

The Raiders will be back in action for another home-and-home series taking on Marietta beginning in Marietta on Friday at 7 PM and then in Alliance on Saturday at 6 PM.
