Box Score WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Mount Union mens's soccer team fell 3-1 at Otterbein in an Ohio Athletic Conference game Sunday afternoon.
The loss drops the Purple Raiders to 0-1 and 0-1 in the OAC while Otterbein moves its record to 1-0 Overall and 1-0 in the OAC.
The first half saw multiple shots from both teams, but the goalies stood tall to keep it tied 0-0 at the break.
Otterbein started the scoring in the second half with a goal by Nathan Neal in the 57th minute.
Junior Rylan Wikle (Olmstead Falls) scored in the 77th minute to tie the game 1-1.
Two goals one in the 80th and one in the 85th minutes gave Otterbein the win 3-1.
Junior Mikey Contreras (Fremont Ross) made three saves for the Purple Raiders.
Mount Union outshot Otterbein 13-8 and was led by Wikle with five shots and two on goal.
The Raiders will return home for the home opener against John Carroll on Thursday, March 18th at 7:00 p.m. in Mount Union Stadium.
