ALLIANCE, Ohio – No. 4 seed Mount Union used a 27-point fourth quarter to race past No. 5 seed Marietta, 76-64 in the quarterfinals of the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Tournament Tuesday at Timken Gymnasium.

Sophomore Emma Cannon (Dalton) had a game-high 18 points to lead the Purple Raiders (9-4), who have now won nine games in a row and advance to Thursday's semifinals.

Fellow sophomore Kelsie Glass (Green) had 17 points and senior Elena Rauhe (Seven Hills / Padua Franciscan) had 14 points as the other double digit scorers for Mount Union.

Hannah Schill had 12 points to lead three in double figures for Marietta (6-7).

The start of the game featured five lead changes and the Pioneers led 20-13 on an Olivia Gribble three-pointer and Marietta led 20-14 at the end of the first quarter.

Mount Union tied the game at 21-21 on a Brianna Gassman (Minerva) three-pointer two minutes into the second quarter. There were two more ties and two more lead changes before Mount Union retook the lead on three straight points from Rauhe to give the Raiders a 27-26 lead with just under four minutes left in the half. Mount Union would lead 31-30 at the break.

The third quarter featured two more lead changes and three more ties with the last of those coming at the end of the quarter 49-49. 

Mount Union opened the fourth quarter on a decisive 13-5 run that was capped by a Glass three-pointer with 3:55 left to hand the Raiders a 62-54 lead. Mount Union would push that lead to as many as 12 points, 75-63, on a pair of Rauhe free throws in the final minute.
