Box Score NEW CONCORD, Ohio –Mount Union's men soccer team shutout Muskingum 2-0 Thursday night in Ohio Athletic Conference play.
The Purple Raiders (2-1) got on the board in the 20th minute on a goal from junior Xavier Pinaya (Monclova / Anthony Wayne) on an assist from senior Austin Overy (Perrysburg) and junior Christian Egan (Monongahela, Pa. / Ringgold).
Rylan Wikle (Olmsted Falls) scored in his third straight game for Mount Union in the 65th minute from a pass by freshman Carter Hancock (Amherst / Steele).
Mount Union's defense held strong all night as junior Mikey Contreras (Fremont Ross) faced five shots with only one being on goal and being his only save of the game.
The Purple Raiders outshot Muskingum (0-4) 24-5 and had eight more corner kicks.
Mount Union stays on the road to take on Capital on Sunday, March 28th at 2:00 p.m. in Bexley.
