BEXLEY, Ohio – Mount Union Women's Volleyball team continued it's win streak beating Franklin (Ind.) Friday night at the Performance Arena.
The Purple Raiders (6-0) have now won six straight games including 15 straights sets beating Franklin (4-2) 25-19, 25-21, 25-18.
Leading Mount Union offensively was senior
Maria Ellesin (Alliance / Marlington) who had 11 kills and freshmen hitters
Alexis Meyer (Avon Lake) and
Darby Leininger (Chardon / Beaumont) who both had eight kills.
Junior setters
Katie May (Brecksville / Independence) and
Mollie Thomas (Massillon / Massillon Perry) both totaled 17 assists on the night.
Defensively the Raiders had four individuals pick up double digit digs with junior
Alyssa Kasaris (North Royalton) having 17 and Thomas picking up 13.
Mount Union in the first set had 13 kills on a .174% hitting percentage while Franklin hit just .125%.
In the second set the Raiders had a .256% with just four attacking errors while Franklin had seven errors with a .122%
The final set saw Mount Union commit only three errors on a .280% and Franklin commit five errors on a .170%.
Mount Union will return to Bexley tomorrow Saturday, September 11th for a 10 a.m. match against Hanover (Ind.) and a noon match against Geneva (Pa.).
