ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Mount Union's women's tennis team fell 7-2 to Grove City (Pa.) in the fall season opener Saturday at Whitehill Courts in Alliance.

Senior Mackenzie Cavalier (Uniontown / Green) had a hand in both Purple Raiders points in the match as she scored an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles with Emma Thornton (Canfield / Youngstown Ursuline) then Cavalier came back with a 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 singles.

Grove City is 2-1 on the season with the win.

Mount Union is next on the court September 25 at Allegheny in Meadville, Pa.
