ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Mount Union men's soccer team recorded their fifth straight shutout in a 3-0 win over Adrian (Mich.) on Tuesday night at Mount Union Stadium.
The Purple Raiders (5-0-1) got on the board first when junior
Josh Palmer (Kent / Kent Roosevelt) scored his first career goal off a corner kick from junior
Brett Kayser (Cleveland / St. Edward) in the 32
nd minute. Senior
Colton Priester (Painesville / Riverside) added to the lead in the 58
th minute when he scored off an assist from senior
Christian Egan (Monongahela, Pa. / Ringgold). The final Raiders goal came off the foot of junior
Gavin Velazquez (Amherst / Steele) in the 63
rd minute, Egan once again picked up the assist.
The "Purple Wall" defense recorded its fifth consecutive shutout, which is their longest streak since they recorded eight straight in 2018. The "Purple Wall" has now held opponents scoreless for the last 476:24 of game action.

Austin Overy (Perrysburg) and Palmer held the Bulldogs (1-6-2) to just two shots and zero shots on goal.
