ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's men's soccer team lost an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup to Ohio Northern 3-2 on Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears (6-2-2, 1-0-0 OAC) scored first, taking a 1-0 lead on an own goal by Mount Union. Ohio Northern would add to their lead in the 19
th minute when Cade Winchester found the back of the net to extend the lead to two goals.
The Purple Raiders (5-2-3, 0-1-0 OAC) would cut the lead in half in the 21
st minute when senior
Rylan Wikle (Olmsted Falls) scored off assists by juniors
Carter Hancock (Amherst / Marion L. Steele) and
Jamon McCort (Magnolia / Sandy Valley).
The Polar Bears would extend the lead back to two in the 24
th minute this time off a goal by Aaron Shelton, making their lead 3-1.
Mount Union would cut the lead back down to one in the 84
th minute when McCort was able to find the back of the net, but the Raiders would be able to score after that eventually falling 3-2.
The Raiders are home again next when they host Baldwin Wallace on Wednesday, October 5 at 7 p.m. at Kehres Stadium in Alliance.
