ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's women's soccer team beat Marietta 3-2 in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup on Wednesday night.
The Pioneers (3-7-1, 2-2-0 OAC) got on the board first, when Melissa Szawranskyj found the back of the net in the 30
th minute.
The Purple Raiders (6-2-3, 3-1-0 OAC) would tie the game in the 40
th minute off a penalty kick by junior
Kaela Turle (Twinsburg). Mount Union would then take the lead just before the half this time off a goal by senior
Madison Pepper (Uniontown / Lake) assisted by freshman
Addyson Jones (Homeworth / West Branch).
Marietta would comeback to tie the game in the 54
th minute when Brooke Huffman scored. Pepper would find the back of the net again in the 79
th minute this time off an assist from sophomore
Logan Godfrey (Huntingtown, Md.) to take a 3-2 win
The Raiders hit the road next when they travel to Columbus on Saturday, October 15 to take on Capital at 7 p.m.
