MARIETTA, Ohio—The Mount Union women's volleyball team fell on the road to Marietta in three sets (25-21, 25-17 and 25-18) Wednesday night at Ban Johnson Arena.
The Purple Raiders (15-5, 2-2 OAC) were led by senior
Maria Ellesin (Alliance / Marlington) who had nine kills on the night. Sophomore
Alexis Meyer (Avon Lake) added seven kills with a hitting percentage of .455.
Senior setters
Mollie Thomas (Massillon / Massillon Perry) and
Katie May (Brecksville / Independence) both had double digit assists with 12 and 11 respectively.
Senior
Alyssa Kasaris (North Royalton) finished with a game-high 21 digs while Thomas picked up 12 digs.
Leading Marietta (15-5, 3-1 OAC) was a pair of sisters in Maggie Fellers and Jillian Fellers who had 14 and 13 kills, Emory Spitler finished with a game-high 33 assists while Keira Shannon finished with a game-high 21 digs.
Mount Union will head home to take on Capital in OAC play this Friday October 14th with a 7 p.m. start time.
