WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The No. 2 Mount Union football team shut out Otterbein, 59-0, in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) action on Saturday to remain undefeated on the season.
The shutout marked the Raiders' fourth of the season. Through eight games, Mount Union (8-0, 7-0 OAC) has outscored its opponents 423-30.
Mount Union scored a touchdown on six of its first eight possessions, including five straight. The Raiders outgained the Cardinals 405 to 92, including 209 to minus seven yards on the ground.
Senior wide receiver
Jaden Manley (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Hartley) had a career day with nine catches for 140 yards and three touchdown receptions. Manley's receptions and yards were a career-high, while his touchdown total tied a career best.
Senior running back
DeAndre Parker (Crystal River, Fla./Crystal River) extended his streak of 100 yards rushing to five games with 105 off 16 carries (6.6 avg) and a touchdown, to go along with 87 yards receiving from six catches (14.5 average) and a touchdown grab.
Senior quarterback
Braxton Plunk (Plant City, Fla./Plant City) finished the day 23-of-31 for 385 yards and five touchdowns.
Senior wide receiver
Orreon Finley (Memphis, Tenn./KIPP Memphis Collegiate) caught a 61-yard touchdown. Sophomore quarterback
Noah Beaudrie (Monroe, Mich./Erie-Mason) added a 34-yard touchdown scamper.
Senior defensive back
Derrick Bradley (Parrish, Fla./Palmetto) returned an interception for a touchdown, the first pick-six of his career. Senior
Jesse Vail (Estero, Fla./Estero) also had a pick. Senior kicker
Thomas Piccirillo (Findlay, Ohio/Van Buren) made a 27-yard field goal.
Junior linebacker
Mason McMillen (Wadsworth, Ohio/Wadsworth) led the Raider defense with nine tackles, including 2.5 for a loss. Senior
Kaleb Detellem (Batavia, Ohio/Batavia) followed with six tackles with one for a loss.
Otterbein dropped to 2-6 overall and 1-6 in league play.
Mount Union will host John Carroll in a battle between teams with unblemished OAC records on Saturday, Nov. 5. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
