No. 4 seed Wilmington will host No. 5 seed Mount Union in the first round of the Ohio Athletic Conference men's soccer tournament on Tuesday, November 1 at 7 p.m. in Wilmington, Ohio.

The Purple Raiders (9-3-5, 4-3-2 OAC) are led offensively by sophomore Jamon McCort (Magnolia / Sandy Valley) who has the second most goals in the conference with 14 on the season and junior Carter Hancock (Amherst / Marion L. Steele) who leads the conference in assists with 11 on the season. Mount Union is led defensively by junior Adam Kalvitz (Avon) and the senior duo of Ryan Sarkisian (Hudson) and Josh Palmer (Kent / Roosevelt). Sophomore goalkeeper Lucas Fields (West Chester / Lakota East) has recorded four shutouts this season in just 11 games.
The Quakers (10-5-3, 5-2-2 OAC) are led by Elorm Dogbey on the offensive side, he has scored eight goals this season which is the fifth most in the conference. Wilmington has also scored the most goals in the OAC as a team this season with 48 on the season. Goalkeeper Thomas Grimes leads the Wilmington defense, ranking third in both saves and save percentage in the conference.

Mount Union is making its 14
th OAC Tournament appearance and has a record of 3-11-3 overall.
Wilmington is making its 11
th OAC Tournament appearance and is 7-8-1 overall and won the tournament title in 2004.

The winner will advance to the semi-finals, but the teams will be reseeded after the first round with the lowest remaining seed travelling to the highest remaining seed. So, the lowest remaining seed will travel to No. 1 Ohio Northern, with the highest remaining seed travelling to No. 2 John Carroll.
Coaches
David Krems is in his third season as the head coach of Mount Union. He led the Raiders to the OAC Tournament in his first season in 2020. Before coming to Mount Union, Krems was the assistant men's soccer coach at Penn State-Behrend and helped lead the Lions to a 35-6-2 record, including a pair of Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference championships and two NCAA Tournament appearances. He has also had assistant coaching stints at Case Western Reserve University, Notre Dame College, Hiram College and Xavier University.
Cory Bucur is in his first season as the head coach of Wilmington. He came to Wilmington from Defiance College, where he is the program's winningest coach by percentage, and led Defiance to their first wins over both Transylvania and Rose-Hulman in program history and a trip to the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Championship game. Bucur spent four seasons as an assistant coach at Lake Erie College and has also had experience at the club level with the Toledo Celtics and Ambassadors FC.
