ALLIANCE, Ohio—The Mount Union men's track and field team picked up six wins competing at the Mount Union Toy Drive Opener Saturday afternoon.
The Purple Raiders swept the top 3 in the 400-meter dash with seniors
Matt McBride (Conneaut),
Tyler Gill (Greenville, Pa. / Reynolds) and freshman Brady Burrey (Bellefontaine) finishing in times of 49.00, 49.94 and 50.69.
Gill got McBride in the 200-meter dash as he picked up the victory in a time of 22.52 while McBride took second in 22.65.
Mount Union swept the top five spots in pole vault with senior
Kyel Wolff (Cleveland / Cuyahoga Heights) winning with a leap of 16-feet 6.75-inches. Colton Hanlon and senior
Dillon Cox (Chardon) finished second and third with heights of 14-feet 7.25-inches and 13-feet 1.5-inches.
Seniors
Blaine Kitchen (Tontogany / Otsego) and
Aaron Blevins (Windham) finished first and second in the 60-meter hurdles with times of 8.80 and 8.89. Junior
Dominic Deshuk (Amherst / Steele) ran an 8.57 in the prelim and didn't compete in the finals.
Sophomore
Jahdon Wimbush (Northfield / Nordonia) picked up the victory in the long jump with a leap of 21-feet 6-inches while freshman Cedric Stuckey () finished second with a leap of 21-feet .75-inches.
Stuckey picked up the victory in triple jump with a jump of 41-feet 4.5-inches while freshman Bret Wingard (Knox, PA. / Keystone) took second with a leap of 41-feet 1-inch.
Senior
Andrew McVicker (Dover) finished second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.04.
Senior
Isaac Vik (Charlottesville, Va. / Charlottesville) took second in the 800-meters with a time of 2:05.13.
Mount Union will next compete on Saturday, January 21 at the Spire Meet hosted in Geneva, Ohio.
