ALLIANCE, Ohio—The Mount Union women's track and field team picked up four wins competing at the Mount Union Toy Drive Opener Saturday afternoon.
The Purple Raiders took the top five spots in the 400 with senior
Kenadee Wayt (Wheeling, W. Va. / Wheeling Central) taking the win in 57.14. Junior
Madison Miles (Padua / Padua Franciscan) and sophomore
Mary Mason (Alliance / Marlington) took second and third with times of 58.05 and 58.98.
Wayt and Miles backed up their first and second place in the 400 with the same spots in the 200-meters with times of 25.51 and 26.20. Senior
Micah Donley (Carrollton) rounded out the top 3 with a time of 26.61.
Mount Union took the top three spots in the pole vault with junior
Kayla McAdams (Massillon / Massillon Perry) taking the victory with a height of 10-feet .75-inches. Senior
Meghan Hughes (Magnolia / Sandy Valley) and sophomore
Sidney Chaffee (Madison) placed second and third with heights of 8-feet 7-inches and 8-feet 1.25-inches.
Sophomore
Halle Cochran (Salem) won the 800-meters with a time of 2:27.75.
Wayt ran a 7.74 in the prelims of the 60-meter dash which was second overall but did not run in the finals.
Sophomore
Natasha Zahursky (Painesville / Riverside) finished second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.69 she had run a faster time in the prelim with a 9.48. Zahursky also picked up second place in the high jump with a height of 5-feet .25-inches.
Junior
Lauren Roncone (North Canton / Hoover) took second in the long jump with a leap of 17-feet 11.75-inches and finished second in the 60-meter dash final with a time of 7.91.
Freshman Makayla Sitzlar (Sugarcreek / Garaway) finished second in the shot put with a throw of 39-feet 1.75-inches.
Mount Union will next compete on Saturday, January 21 at the Spire Meet hosted in Geneva, Ohio.
