McCauley Breaks School-Record While Wayt Ties Another In Raiders All-Ohio Victory

WESTERVILLE, Ohio. – The Mount Union women's track and field team defend its All-Ohio Championship title by winning nine events and tying a school-record in the 60-meter dash Saturday afternoon.
 
The Purple Raiders scored 187 points good for a 106.5-point victory over second place Oberlin.
 
Senior Brit McCauley (Ontario) broke the school record by seven seconds in the 3,000-meters winning with a time of 10:02.27. The record was held by Hilary Reigle for three years with a 10:09.42.

Junior Kenadee Wayt (Wheeling, W. Va. / Wheeling Central Catholic) won the 60-meters tying the school record in a time of 7.67 which sits third in Division III. The record has been held by Daijana Johnson for five years.
 
Senior Kennady Gibbins (Navarre / Fairless) won the high jump with a season-best height of 5-feet 6.5-inches which sits in sixth in Division III.
 
Wayt finished picked up a win in the 200-meters (25.47) which sits eighth overall in Division III.
 
Sophomore Lauren Roncone (North Canton / Hoover) along with Gibbins finished first and second in the long jump with leaps of 18-feet 2.25-inches and 18-feet 1.5-inches.
 
Senior Michaelina Terranova (North Jackson / Jackson-Milton), juniors Megan Wertz (Canton / GlenOak) and Julia Henderson (Twinsburg) along with freshman Mary Mason (Alliance / Marlington) grabbed a win in the 4x400-meter relay (4:07.87).
 
Wayt teamed up with seniors Lily Bogunovich (Alliance / Marlington), Olivia Powers (Norwalk / St. Paul) and Cortni Arp (Copley) to win the 4x200-meter relay in a time of 1:45.33.
 
Junior Micah Donley (Carrollton) won the 400-meters in a time of 1:01.10 while Bogunovich finished second (1:01.26).
 
Freshman Becca Santom (Grove City, Pa. / Grove City) competed and won the pentathlon with a score of 2,494 points.
 
Junior Angela DeFabio (Twinsburg) ran a personal-best 5:16.76 to finish second in the mile.
 
Senior Emily Phillips (Chardon) finished runner-up in the pole vault with a leap of 11-feet 5.25-inches.
 
Mason along with Wertz finished second and third overall in the 800-meters with times of 2:20.62 and 2:21.00.
 
The Raiders host next Saturday, February 19th with the Raider Tune-Up.
